Wings of Redemption Spawn SOLD

When I first saw photos of the Wings of Redemption (WOR) Spawn on Spawn.com, I was totally blown away by the sculpt and paint. However, when I saw this toy at dept stores, I was fairly disappointed with the final product and hesitated whether to buy or leave it.

Firstly, The joints on this figure, esp the neck and waist joints, totally break the flow of the sculpt if you move it from the intended position. Secondly, the paint job was a bit sloppy at the waist area and the paint above and below the neck joint did not match up evenly.

In order to downsize my toy inventory, I showed my gf my entire collection of Spawn toys and asked her which were the ones she thought I should keep. WOR Spawn was amongst those which didn't meet her standard. After keeping it with me for 5 years, it was finally time to part ways.

SPAWN I.098 was the first toy (or rather the first 3 toys since I imported 3 at that time) I imported from the USA as it was a Spawn.com exclusive. And thus far, it is also the only time I have imported toys from the US.

Of the 3 I bought, I had initially intended to sell one, keep one mint and open one up for display. But due to the cost of importing these, I ended up selling two and keeping only one. After keeping him in storage for close to 4 years, I finally decided that it was time to part ways...

One of the main reason I have been keeping him for the last 4 years was because of the gargoyle base. I had wanted to pose my Spider-man on it. But alas, the more I look at the gargoyle, the uglier it looks (dun get me wrong, it is very well-sculpted and detailed, but still ugly). Someone was kind enough to offer me a reasonable price for it. So, sayonara SPAWN I.098, may you find happier times with your new owner.

MP-02 Ultra Magnus SOLD

Having regretted making this purchase two years ago, I tried selling it on yahoo auctions. At that time, many people were trying to sell their MP-02 and online prices were pretty low. Some were even selling below retail. As a result, I decided to keep it a little longer.

Recently, I began clearing some of my old toy collection. So I thought, why not try and sell my MP=02 again? As a result of the recent Transformer hype, I managed to sell off my MP-02 at a reasonably good price.

Recent purchase

My lastest purchase from Toys R Us Vivocity last Sunday. Never thought I would buy Transformer Jazz as I didn't like the bunny look. When I saw the battle damaged Jazz, I was comtemplating buying him as I found the resculpted Jazz was very cool. But, now that I bought the G1 repaint, I guess

Recent Purchase

Medival Spawn III

One of the most anticipated figure prior to its release. It is easily one of my favourite Spawn figure. Excellent sculpt, dynamic pose, and enough useful articulation to ensure a variety of cool pose.

Spawn VI

One of my prized collection. Masked version is extremely rare in Singapore. The common version is the unmasked Spawn.

Spawn series 18 Interlink SOLD

Spawn Interlink was supposed to be one of my prized collection. Having bought it when it was first released in Mar 2001, I had always taught that I would open it up one day and proudly display it. Nevertheless, after all these years, better toys have been released and Interlink was relegated to being one of those toys that took up too much space. While I still liked the toys (6 in total) for its awesome sculpting and innovation (6 robot combine to form one massive 16 inch toy), it was time to part ways and for them to have a new owner. Picture was taken from spawn.com as I was too lazy to take pictures of all six toys.

A New Look

My blog now has 3 columns! I will continue to customize the design to make it easier on the eyes and easier to navigate.
